Where Are Downloaded Videos Saved?
Downloaded videos normally go to your browser’s configured Downloads folder. The exact location depends on your device, browser, and any location you selected when saving.
iPhone and iPad
Open Files, tap Browse, and look in Downloads under iCloud Drive or On My iPhone/iPad. In Safari, tap the download indicator near the address bar to view recent items. To move a compatible video to Photos, open it in Files, tap Share, and choose Save Video.
Android
Open Files by Google or the manufacturer’s file manager and choose Downloads. In Chrome, open the menu and select Downloads. Some phones use a folder named Download.
Windows
Open File Explorer and select Downloads in the navigation pane. Pressing your browser’s downloads shortcut or opening its downloads menu can show recent files and an Open in folder option.
macOS
Open Finder and select Downloads. Safari displays recent downloads from its toolbar, while Chrome, Edge, and Firefox provide downloads panels with a Show in Finder option.
If the file is missing
- Check the browser’s recent downloads for a failed or blocked item.
- Search by the filename or sort the Downloads folder by newest first.
- Check whether the browser asked you to choose another folder.
- Confirm there is enough storage space.
- Look for duplicate names with a number added.
Change the default location
Most desktop browsers let you change the download folder or ask where to save each file in their Downloads settings. Mobile browsers offer fewer location choices.
