Video Download Troubleshooting
If a download is not working, start with the exact message shown by the service and work through the checks below. Most failures come from the URL, content visibility, format availability, or a temporary platform change.
“Unsupported website”
Confirm that you are using the correct downloader and a platform listed on Supported Platforms. Paste the full media URL, not a search page, profile, channel, hashtag, or embedded-player page.
Private, restricted, or removed content
Private accounts, friends-only posts, login-required content, deleted media, age restrictions, and some regional limits cannot be processed. SaveMediaOnline does not accept passwords or bypass access controls.
Short or redirect URL fails
Open the short link in your browser, allow it to resolve to the public post, then copy the final address and try again. Remove accidental punctuation or text copied beside the link.
Only audio is available
The exact format list depends on the source. Try the original public post URL rather than a share-page variant. If video formats still do not appear, the source may not expose them to the current analyzer.
1080p is missing
Not every upload provides 1080p. High-resolution video may also be delivered separately from audio and require additional preparation. Choose one of the formats actually shown.
A platform suddenly stopped working
Platforms regularly change URLs, media delivery, and access rules. Retry later and report a reproducible public example through Contact if the issue persists.
The result or download expired
Jobs and generated links are temporary. Return to the downloader and analyze the original link again.
I cannot find the downloaded file
Check your browser’s downloads list and the device-specific locations in Where Are Downloads Saved?.
Safari on iPhone behaves differently
Safari may open a preview before downloading. Use the share or download control, then check the Downloads folder in Files. Our iPhone guide covers the full process.
